Hp scan and capture mac
You can change the order of scanned pages before combining them.
#HP SCAN AND CAPTURE MAC PDF#
tif or equivalent quality for me.Also, you can save text documents as PDF files, either making each scanned page its own PDF or combining several into a multi-page file. Besides the inconvenience, the biggest problem is that it only scans straight to the USB drive as a jpg.
#HP SCAN AND CAPTURE MAC DRIVERS#
Are there any new drivers coming out or anything I can do to fix it?Īs a side note, if I plug in a USB drive directly to the printer, it will scan to it perfectly everytime. This is frustrating as the printer claims to have full Mac support. I have tried using GIMP as well and have the same results.
I have yet to be able to find why it will work sometimes and other times not. Then scan using Photosmart the exact same way several times and it gives me different results. I can actually put the paper on the glass and not move it.
#HP SCAN AND CAPTURE MAC DRIVER#
When scanning using HP's Photosmart software included with the driver download, sometimes the scan is perfect, and other times it is distorted or only partially scanned. I have installed and reinstalled Leopard and the HP drivers etc. The +*Mac support*+ person’s lack of Mac knowledge, combined with HP’s automated voice recognition system that didn’t work, a 15 minute wait to be put on hold for another five minutes, only to get a phone connection so bad that the only thing I could do was hang up and make another trip through the non-functional voice recognition system, followed by another 8 minute wait to be put on hold for another two minutes, makes my phone support experience with HP among the very worst I have ever had.Īndrew, I have a HP C7180 All in One on a Mac Mini. His final answer was “We do not support Image Capture.” HPScanPro.ds which the HP Installer for my new HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One installs into */Library/Image Capture/TWAIN Data Sources* is not HP software.
He did not seem to be at all familiar with Macs. The person I spoke to was supposed to be a Mac support person. I have within the past hour spoken with HP Canada technical support (which turns out to be the same phone number as for HP US). There's a 'HPScanPro.ds' folder in "Library/Image Capture/TWAIN Data Sources', so I really don't see what could still be missing for Image Capture to use it. But if it doesn't even work on the iMac directly.
If Image capture can use it on the iMac it should be able to share it with Image Capture on the laptop, allowing me to scan from the laptop over Airport. The reason I want to be able to use Image Capture is because I want to share the scanner with my laptop over Airport. The button does not appear to do anything. There's a strange tiny blue-gray cross icon under 'Kind' and a 'Use TWAIN UI' button in the 'Use TWAIN UI' column (?). It's under "TWAIN Data sources': 'HPScanPro'. It says "No Image Capture device connected" even though it does list HPScanPro in its device browser. However, for some reason I cannot scan from Image Capture. I can also scan from Photoshop using "Import" - "HP Scan Pro (TWAIN)". Printing works fine, directly and shared over Airport (MacBook Pro -> Airport -> iMac -> USB -> Printer), and scanning works fine on the iMac with the supplied HP software.
I have just bought an HP F2280 printer/scanner/copier.
